Paul J. Donoghue, S. M., Ph.D. and Mary E. Siegel, Ph.D., psychologists in private practice, are the authors of Are You Really Listening?: Keys to Successful Communication (Sorin Books 2005. Now available on Audible).

Their first book, Sick and Tired of Feeling Sick and Tired: Living With Invisible Chronic Illness (WW Norton 1992, 2000), is now in its 16th printing and in its Second Edition.

Their latest book, We Really Need to Talk: Steps to Better Communication (Sorin Books 2010), discusses the need we all have to talk in order to relieve stress and to connect effectively with those we love as well as with those we manage and instruct. Nobel Prize winner Desmond Tutu says of the book, "Drs. Donoghue and Siegel teach in a deeply human way the skills needed to communicate with genuine love." Donoghue and Siegel are the authors of more than 50 magazine and journal articles on issues related to chronic illness, communication skills and family dynamics.

They have appeared on more than a 100 radio shows across the country and in Great Britain and on many television shows including The Today Show, Good Day New York and a special on CNBC.

As speakers they have lectured internationally to diverse audiences such as nurse, physician and patient organizations as well as to education, business, civic and religious groups.

Doctors Donoghue and Siegel offer a valuable road map to the art of
listening. They have created a simple step by step guide on
how to be better listeners. I found
Are You Really Listening? refreshing,
eye opening and helpful to my daily life.
